About the show
 Umpa small
The collapse of the international finance amusingly explained by a five-piece oompah band. Modern pop classics reworked with a Bavarian lilt while failed financier Max Klein explains just what brought down the world's economy and cost him his job. Where bond insurance meets Bon Jovi, bankruptcy meets AC/DC.

"This show is a work of genius, the band's use of their instruments tocreate comedy is executed with style and perfect timing."
Scotland on Sunday

"It is without doubt the most unlikely hour you will ever spend, but it is glorious. The band are stonkingly good. If you invest in a ticket you will never regret it."
Kate Copstick, The Scotsman

"The idea has a whimsical brilliance, the musicians first-rate, the arrangements inspired, with a sensational finale that blows your socks off. An hour of very agreeable nonsense, delivered with a sly grin and enormous musical brio."
Giles Cole, What'sOnStage

"If there's only one show you can afford to see this festival, it's probably Charlie Talbot's Blow Up - The Credit Crunch Musical. The brass band are the real stars of the show. Who knew Kylie, Queen, Dolly Parton and even AC/DC could sound so good when played in an oompah style?"
Rachel Devine, The Sunday Times

"If you leave Edinburgh without hearing Bohemian Rhapsody in oompah your life will be the lesser for it."
The Scotsman, BEST OF THE FEST

"A jolly affair. If this is the recession, can we have one every year?"
Brian Logan, The Guardian

"An oompah band with a great sense of humour. Bloody brilliant."
Roger Cox, The Scotsman Online

"An entertaining romp through the financial meltdown. There's a certain irony that a show about going broke has got so much brass.
This really is a blast."
Steve Bennett, Chortle

"Will make you leave the theatre trembling, stand-up comedy backed by a brass band that will make you laugh and astound you. Wonderful jokes, the chemistry between the six on-stage as potent as the music itself. At last I understand the economic collapse"
Theo Jones, Broadway Baby

"Business will never be dull again. The talented band delivers a jawdropping sound that leaves the audience in awe. Talbot adopts a German accent as funny as his punchlines."
Three Weeks

"The script is intelligent and witty and the band is great fun. The musical finale alone is worth the price of the ticket."
