Hi Everyone,
At last this issue is ready.
These last few days of the Neptune undertow has
made getting this issue out very difficult.
Thank you for your patience.
The astrological happenings this month are intense and
many. Therefore, this issue is mainly
astrology. I usually try to keep more of a
balance but this time there is just too much going on.
I love reading. Books
and libraries are my home. So it is with
great delight that I happened upon this online used/new bookstore. Here is their description:
"Better World Books is a for-profit social
enterprise that collects used books and sells them online to raise money
for literacy
initiatives worldwide. We offer great bargains on used books
- over 6 million used and new titles, with free shipping
anywhere in the U.S.
and just $3.97 worldwide. What's more, you love cheap used books and so does
the environment - when you buy used, you save books from landfill and conserve
resources."
They have a blog that describes their literacy programs. They sponsor textbook
drives for college students. If you do a
book drive for them they pay the shipping fee to ship the books to them. They will buy back your used books. They have podcasts of interviews with
authors, a staff picks section and they even have wishlist capacity so you can
list the books you are looking for if you don't find them on their search
engine.
They also have online sidewalk sales that benefit local
libraries. Here is how they describe it:
"Browse our Online Sidewalk Sales. Here you can type in your zip code and
browse a selection of titles in our inventory that come to us from a library
near you. The best part is that proceeds go directly back to your local
library."
I typed in my zip code and a list of 10 nearby libraries
came up. November is Family Literacy
Month so they have a special of 4 children's books for 10 dollars. They have contributed over seven million
dollars to the literacy programs. A great
easy to use and interesting website; check it out:

Good Luck this month.

Full Moon Taurus November 2, 2009
Taurus moon energy is strong and stubborn. It is like an oak tree, deeply rooted yet
growing high into the sky. This is a
moon that for the next 2 weeks, will help you do the practical things towards finishing or continuing projects you have already started. Taurus will help you slow down and take stock
of your progress. It is unhurried and
the energy is more about feeling things out and discerning with your bones. What are your top 2 projects that you have
been working on? Take some time to step
back and re-strategize the successful completion of them. Taurus may not be fast, but he is thorough,
practical and gets the job done.
Neptune Direct On
November 4th, 2009
Neptune is the planet that connects
you to Source ~ God ~ Great Spirit ~ The Power That Is. Akin to the power of the ocean, Neptune
dissolves things over time, is vast and boundary-less, and bends or refracts
light and energy so it is hard to see the truth of things. With Neptune turning
direct, matters which have felt confused or indecisive will clear up. That feeling of an undertow holding you back
will start to lesson. As Neptune
moves forward the energy will flow more in alignment with your goals.

Batten Down The Relationship Hatches - Saturn
In Libra
Enters Libra Oct 29 2009 - April 7 2010
Re-visits Virgo due to retrograde April
7 - July 20 2010
Back in Libra from July 21 2010 - October 5 2012
Saturn rules the earth based goat, Capricorn, and jointly
rules idealistic air Aquarius with Uranus.
Saturn is like an extremely strict but fair teacher, he demands that you
put a strong foundation under your dreams and if there are any cracks or weak
spots, he'll make sure you know they are there even if he has to hit you over
the head with the information. His
energy is contracting, restricting, and slow.
He insists on a solid structure and process towards growth and
success. He is the task
master that demands action.
Saturn is your ethics, responsibilities,
and principles; which are the basis for how you make decisions and choices. He also governs karma and lessons to be
learned in this life. He is very
frustrating to people because he forces us to go slow and pay attention right
when we want to run ahead. Saturn is
behind the adage "Look before you leap."
Libra is primarily about finding harmony and balance,
justice and equality in relationship to others.
While Saturn was in Virgo, the sign of the hermit, he was
challenging us to strengthen our connections to our intuition, inner wisdom and
spirit. He has been exposing our
structures at the personal and collective levels, showing us where they are
failing. He has spent these last two
years in Virgo showing us the ways in which our personal lives and society is
built on quicksand.
Saturn in Libra takes us out of the personal and into the world. He will shake the foundations of all your
relationships: loved ones, friends, family,
community, and work. On a larger scale,
he will make us focus on how we, as a species, relate to other species, nature,
the earth, stars, and our place in the universe.
With Saturn in Libra we will be called upon to step out of
the Virgo preoccupation we've had of our personal lives and into improving and
creating solid structures of life affirming community and global balance. Here in the bay area, the East
Bay Bridge
has been closed for repairs for many days now.
This is Saturn forcing people to realize how important bridges are in
our everyday life. Without connection you cannot move from point A to point B. And it is not just any connection, it is in
finding the right connection that speeds things up. For example, without the East
Bay Bridge,
to get to San Francisco, you have
to travel well out of your way to the North or the South crossing the bridges
that are there that take you to the far reaches of the city and then you have
to navigate a ways to get to downtown.
There is BART, but in the interests of this metaphor, you have to go
deep underground, stopping at places you normally would not stop at to get
downtown; it is still not a direct route.
The direct connection or bridge is what makes communication, solving
problems, and success easy.
Looking at the East
Bay Bridge
metaphor from a different angle, I also realize that having all the different
bridges and varieties of ways to get to San Francisco
is very healthy. If we only had the one
bridge, as a community we'd be paralyzed.
Saturn in Libra is about putting energy into maintaining, repairing, and
creating many strong bridges of relationship with other people, beings, webs of
community, and the Earth herself. It
also means cutting loose and releasing those relationships that don't work
anymore, are draining or unsupportive.
As we move into Libra Saturn, it is important to revisit
your heart's desires. Figure out how you
want to relate with people and the earth.
Consciously identify what you need to have in healthy relationship and
what you can compromise on. Start asking
your close relations, how they best feel heard and loved and tell them how you
feel heard and loved. In addition, work
out an action plan or a process for handling problems or issues that come
up, so that you don't spiral into emotional reaction. Set up a regular play date with your closest relationships
so you can infuse the relationship with fun, creative energy.
"The Heaviest Day Of The Year" - November 15, 2009
Pluto Squares Saturn - Transformative Power Confronts Primary Structure
Sun Squares Neptune, Jupiter, Chiron
Core Purpose Confronts Vision, Optimism, and Self Healing
Mars Squares Venus & Ceres - Passion Confronts Love & Nurturing
Overall, I see the future as very exciting with great
possibilities, exhilaration and joy. I
know that we as a species are about to become so much more than we've ever
dreamed possible. I know this with every
fiber of my being. Unfortunately, we
have to trust in the process and walk through the labyrinth to get there.
Be prepared, we are in for a bumpy ride come November 15th. Some
astrologers are calling it the heaviest
day of this year. November 15th,
which is when the Saturn/Pluto square is exact, is luckily a Sunday this year. I
highly
advise you stay at home, putter around, and avoid any interactions
with
anyone if possible. If you can't do that
then I recommend don't engage in any deep conversation, have very low expectations and practice being invisible or blending
in. Travel as little as possible. Refrain from taking anything
personally.
When a planet is at 90 degrees to another planet we call
that aspect "square." You do want some
squares in your life, otherwise change would be less likely to happen and you
would be stagnant. How a square works is
like producing fire with rocks. You get
two rocks and strike them until they create sparks that light the tinder. To get the sparks you have to hit the rocks
pretty hard and consistently. That is
the same kind of energy that is generated when two or more planets are
square. This energy puts fire in your
pants to get you to seek change. The
type of planets and signs that the planets are in, determine how hard the rocks
are hit, how big the sparks, how hot the temperature and the flavor of the fire.
The most powerful and slowest moving square is Saturn and
Pluto. This square will happen three
times throughout the year, but due to the other planets November 15th
will be the strongest:
1st (of 3) ~ Nov 15, 2009 ~ Saturn & Pluto
Direct
2nd (of 3) ~ Jan 31, 2010 ~ Saturn
Retrograde/Pluto Direct
3rd (of 3) ~ Aug 21, 2010 ~ Pluto
Retrograde/Saturn Direct
In one corner of the ring is Saturn in Libra (responsibility
and balance) and in another corner is Pluto in Capricorn (power and world
structures i.e. corporations, government, education, health care etc). Layer onto that the other squares and the impatient
temper of Mars in Leo (see below) and you get the ingredients for some pretty
volatile combustion. No doubt about
it. Change will be happeningand it might not be what we, as a people, want it to be.
You can get an idea of how this will affect you personally
by looking to see where these planets are aspecting your natal chart. Aspecting means a planet creating an angle of
up to 8 degrees orb with other planets. The
orb is how much an angle made by two points differs from the exactness of an
aspect.
What do you do to mitigate this? Think about what ships do to ride out
a
storm. You trim your sails, take
everything below that isn't nailed down, keep a firm hand upon the
wheel, and
pray. Prioritize your basic needs: food, clean water, shelter,
health, play,
community, etc. Have a daily spiritual
practice and include grounding and centering as part of it. Avoid
watching the news. Be in nature as much as possible. Find ways to
laugh and play with friends and
family to alleviate stress. Take action
around the political issues that effect you the most.
Mars in Leo
Oct 16, 2009 - June 7, 2010
An extremely potent Mars in Leo is currently in play. Mars rules your heart's desires and is very actively
passionate. Leo is very dramatic,
creative, and rules the heart. Put them
together and you get extreme fire power and a short fuse. If you are careful you can use that power to
create or manifest your deepest desires, but it can easily erupt into anger,
aggression, bullying and destruction. Be
mindful and keep a cool head especially during the Saturn/Pluto squares.
Helpful things would be to start a project you can pour your
creative passion into, do expressive art like finger paints or clay, and find
physically active volunteer work that you can get emotionally involved in. If you know your priorities you can focus
that energy towards conscious success.
Knowing about these energies and transits gives you
power. That is why I write these ezines,
to give you knowledge to use as leverage while you are navigating the major
changes we are going through. When you
know it is flu season, you know to wash your hands more often, sterilize door
knobs and light switches, take more vitamin C, etc. While these squares are happening and while
Mars is in Leo, you can be prepared by being aware, cleansing your energy,
supporting and taking care of your emotional self, strengthening your relationship
with friends and community, etc. The
fear and hate mongering that is rampant in the media will be fueled by these
squares. Staying "awake" will keep you
from getting lured into it. Exercising your sense of humor will also keep you in healthy perspective.

International Action Around Global Warming and The Copenhagen Conference
December 7 - December 18 is the United Nations Conference on
Climate Change in Copenhagen.
People all over the world have been and are organizing to
pressure the leaders into actually doing something about it.
October 24th was the launching of the
international pressure. 350 parts per
million is the maximum level for CO2 that is safe for us to live healthily on
this planet. We are now at 387 parts per
million. To see over 1900 photos of people in 181 countries and their
creative ways of using the message to raise awareness go to:
350.org
They also have continuous updates of the actions people have been doing since.
November 30th is the United States Day of Action
http://www.actforclimatejustice.org/
December 5th is billed as the largest protest in London
called The Wave.
People are organizing coaches from all over Britain
to get people there
http://www.stopclimatechaos.org/the-wave
December 12th is the next International Day Of
Global Action
http://www.globalclimatecampaign.org/
The corporations and governments show every indication of keeping it business as usual, i.e. nothing. Now is the time to step up with your energy and intent to join with our neighbors around the world to demand change. Saturn in Libra is a supporting energy for us, the people, in this situation.
