Greetings Everyone,
The next few weeks leading up to mid September are going to
be intense. The operative words for the
next two months are compassion and cathartic exercise. Find out more below.
I am in the process of creating a new website and revising
my rate structure. I will keep you
posted.
Please feel free to send comments or feedback about my
newsletters. I hope to have a
question and answer section every now and then, where I can answer your questions about astrology or the articles.

August 5th & 6th Full Moon
Lunar Eclipse
Moon in Aquarius/Sun in Leo:
Cooking A Huge Meal
So That You Clean Out The Fridge:
The third eclipse in a row means we are still being
compelled to shed more of our old way of being.
Keep pruning and revising that which does not work for you. The Aquarius
energy invites us to let our new transitions help us perceive even
more what is old and needs to go. When I
packed to move this last time, I thought I couldn't throw anything more
out. But the energy and space of my new
place inspired me.
Things that I thought I couldn't live without became excess baggage and
in the way. It is the same thing with
new classes, habits, decor or spiritual practices. They help you let go.
Blending In Is
Out. Standing Out Is In:
Eclipses help you correct the course that your life is
taking in regards to fulfilling your purpose.
Initiating change in that regard is exceptionally fruitful at this
time.
"Life is an eternal,
infinite dance of energy. When we look
through the eyes of higher-dimensional awareness, we see breathtaking
geometries of light, forming endless patterns and cycles of creation. Like a piece of glass in a kaleidoscope, we
each reflect light in our own way and are also part of a larger design. Leo represents our individual piece, the kind
of light we came to shine (the sun); Aquarius, the complex patterns formed by
many coming together (the constellations)."
By Stephanie Austin
This is the time to own your uniqueness; your special perspective
and essence that no one else has. The
world needs you to allow your true self to be radiant like the sun. At the same time it is important to find a
cornucopia of other people with which you can create new "constellations" that support
and manifest healthier sustainable ways of living.
To Boldly Go Where
You Have Not Gone Before...
There are a lot of astrological transits happening that will
build up tension until the boiling point on September 15th. The third of five oppositions between Saturn
(the status quo) and Uranus (revolution) happens September 15. The first one happened on the day Obama got
elected president. This third one is the
pivot point where we, as a collective, keep moving forward into transformation or
we retreat. Think of it as Wednesday. When you get past Wednesday, you're over the
hump and the rest of the week tends to go more swiftly. But leading up to it can feel like it takes
forever.
There are a number of weeks between now and then and
consequently a major building of tension.
Throughout this time, Mars in Gemini (fighting with words) will be
teasing the planets in this opposition.
This is a good time to start up a regular schedule of exercise to
release the physical pressure. For those
who already have a routine, start consciously utilizing it to let go of
frustration and irritation. Count to ten
before you react to things. Pick your
battles and keep a wide perspective. Practice
refusing to take anything personally.
This opposition creates mounting struggle between the things
you feel an obligation or duty for and a desire for freedom and breaking the
rules. The key here is that an
opposition is like a seesaw. Instead of
getting caught in the game of one side trying to over power the other side,
find the balancing mid point and act from there. This is also a time for knowing and honoring
your limits (Saturn) while you are restructuring your life (Uranus). Looking at where the opposition is affecting
your natal chart can give you insight into how to utilize it's power. From now until September, set the tone for your
own personal life by courageously making the changes you keep putting off. Choose where you desire to transform and work it
rather than letting it work you. Remembering that everyone is being affected by
this can help you have compassion for other's.

Talking Self, She Who
Whispers, and Spirit Guides: What's the
difference?
I was talking with a friend and she asked how I tell the
difference between my talking self, intuitive voice and messages from
my spirit guides. As I was answering her I thought what a great
idea for an article.
I want to say up front; be kind to yourself. It can be very hard to discern which guidance
needs to be acted upon and which is needless worry, doubt, or fear. Even those of us who have been consciously trying
to pay attention for years will still wave off or misunderstand important messages.
The way to tell the difference between all three types is
where you perceive them in your body. People
"think" in different ways. Whereas I hear
myself talking in my head and, yes, I admit it, out loud as well, other people
might see pictures; feel textures, hear tones and music. They could think in mathematical formulas, in
spatial placements or geometric figures.
Some might need to interact with other people to be able to think and
many use a combination of these. Please
keep in mind that my examples are a result of how I perceive. Please notice
how you think and look for the
differences in the three "voices" and where they are in your body using your own style of perception.
Talking Self
Talking Self is
the part of your mind that is the chatter box.
It is constantly commenting on what you are doing, and how you said
something or what others might be thinking or needing etc. This is the voice that you hear if you are
rehearsing a conversation before you have it or going over the conversation
after you've had it. That part of you that you're trying to quiet when you
meditate.
For me, I perceive Talking
Self speaking from the top of my head towards the front. Not right up front in the forehead, but just
behind. Like where the arch of a
headphone set would rest. It kind of
vibrates there and when I am consciously thinking hard about something I find
that that is where my focus is. There is
also usually an emotion attached to this voice.
Talking Self does
have the constructive criticism and analytical left brain abilities, but can
take it too far. There are many times
where I've just had to shut it in the cupboard for awhile, so I could let my
creativity and imagination have free rein.
Many people give it way too much power.
Intuitive Voice
Intuitive voice
is the calm voice of your wise self that suggests very quietly to take some sort
of action. Like, "Check the back door to
make sure it's locked", or "Call X and make sure she's ok," or "There is
something off about that person or street." Though it is a voice that is solely from
within you and a part of you, it is usually the voice your Talking Self discounts pretty quickly and then you wish later with
all your might that you hadn't.
I perceive Intuitive
Voice as very soft and quiet with a smooth line of energy, and coming from
behind my ear forward. I have read that
some traditions call it "She Who Whispers".
I love that name, because I do hear it like a feathery whisper in my
ear. Strengthening your ability to
"hear" Intuitive Voice is a lot like remembering dreams. The more you listen to it and take action;
the stronger it gets.
Spirit Guides
For the purposes of this article, Spirit Guides are the beings who watch over you. (I say this because not all that I list would
be technically called a spirit guide, but it is easier to write with the one
phrase.) They could be: ancestors, angels, beloved dead, deities, orishas,
saints, animals, trees, fey, council of elders, your version of "God", The
Power That Is, pure life force, etc. It
is my belief that everyone has a whole team of different types of spirit guides
working with you throughout your life.
Spirit Guides speak to you in various ways but do not often speak
from within. For me, though there are
many that guide me, I still perceive them, body wise, in a consistent way. They speak to me from outside my body. This can be through relevant symbols I see as
I go through the day, close calls where I feel I had divine intervention, or obstacles
that keep coming up over and over that keep me from going in a specific direction.
Sometimes they are subtle. They will put a book, class or an
expert in my path so that I can find the information that I need. Have you ever been
researching something new and start seeing or hearing about the subject
everywhere you go all of a sudden? That
is not just synergy but your guardians at work.
Sometimes they can be very loud or blatant. Every now and again I have heard a deep,
loud, booming voice that I can only describe as the "Voice of God," warn me
about impending danger. The first time I could not
leave and was in a bus accident. I fared
ok because I consciously chose to sit in a better protected seat than usual.
I caution, that just because they send you guidance or
advice does not mean you do whatever they say, (unless it is the booming "Voice
Of God" of course). Spirit Guides are in
a mutual relationship with you. You have
your own wisdom to add to the mix and you are the one in the 3 dimensional
body, which gives you more weight, (if you pardon the pun). Spirit Guides do not ask you to do things
that go against your ethics or integrity.
These three ways of receiving information make up part of
your navigation kit as you move through your life. If you have read or seen "The Golden Compass"
by Philip Pullman (the book is way better), think of it as interpreting your
own personal golden compass. It is like
learning a different language. The more
you open up to perceiving the messages the better you get at knowing your right
direction.
