Four Planets That Will Change Your Life
A word about Retrograde anything. A retrograde planet looks like it is going backwards in the sky. It is the same principle as when you are driving and you overtake a car moving slower than you. As you drive past it, it looks like it is going backwards from your point of view. In this case, your car is the Earth and the other car is the retrograde planet.
Energetically, when a planet is retrograde it means change will be happening internally. Think of the words re-examine, re-view, re-fresh, and re-member, then put those words with the qualities that the planet represents. This gives you an indication of what that planet will firmly inspire you to do in your life.
Four very powerful and influential planets will be retrograde at the same time. Three of them are outer planets, which influence the collective consciousness of humans. Keep in mind these will not only affect us on an inner, personal level but also affect us as a species on the community and global level. Many of the planetary interactions happening right now have not occurred in hundreds or thousands of years. So this is a very powerful time to exist.
My personal take on this group of retrograde planets in particular, is that humanity as a whole is in a cocoon stage of transformation. When the caterpillar is in it's cocoon it turns to liquid. At this stage it has no concept of form. How many of you feel like you know you need to do something new, or move to a new place but don't know what or where? Trust that this is your deep knowingness sending illumination bubbles up to the surface, indicating change is imminent. That is part of being in this stage. I think that this is also where we are as a species.
When you read the following descriptions of the retrogrades, consider how they relate to the evolution of our species as well as how they affect you personally.
Uranus Retrograde - Trauma or Liberation?
July 1 - December 1, 2009
Uranus retrograde indicates that we are all in for a very exciting ride over the next five months. I am soooo excited about this retrograde. Uranus is a planet that brings sudden insights and change. It can lift veils and throw off blinders in a most abrupt fashion. It does not like stale routines, old tired systems, or habits that aren't useful anymore. Say you had had a broken leg and it was healed but you kept using the crutches to walk, not trusting your legs to carry you. Uranus is the wise soul that comes up and takes the crutches away and forces you to walk on your own.
Uranus retrograde will disrupt your inner path. This can be scary and uncomfortable because your normal ways of feeling safe and secure won't feel that way anymore. Uranus retrograde is like the Ace of Swords in the tarot. A gift from the universe that helps you find a new way to do things and forces you to shift your consciousness to a new angle or perspective. If you are not willing to go with the changes, and hang onto those crutches it can be traumatic. However, working with the changes, like surfing a wave or dancing with a partner, where you keep a tension and a balance with it, will be exhilarating and liberating.
Jupiter Retrograde - Depleting Or Strengthening Your Inner Power
June 15 - October 12, 2009
Jupiter retrograde is all about remembering and connecting to the wise one within you. Jupiter will show you the folly of giving away your power to others. They may know volumes of information and have tons of experience. But the key is how does that information apply to you? Does it zing? Or does it feel flat? Jupiter retrograde will incite you to connect with your own personal sense of wisdom, justice, and guidance. Seek inward for your course of action, not outward. Jupiter will also help you work more efficiently and have more time to play.
Neptune Retrograde - Breech Birth or Natural Birth
May 28 - November 4, 2009
Neptune retrograde is about returning to the collective womb to prepare for rebirth. Yes, to prepare for rebirth. We are being strongly encouraged by Neptune to revisit Source to realign with our personal purposes. Though it can be frustrating, you do not need to know your purpose in order to do this.
Instead, focus consciously on re-evaluating what you do to refresh and renew yourself. What is feels old and stale, and, in turn, what is something new you could begin doing to recharge? For example, while writing this section, I realized I had some great tree friends where I used to live. I haven't befriended any trees in my new place. So I am resolving to go out and make some new connections, because trees keep me grounded to Earth.
Revisit your dreams and visions for your future as well. Do they work for you anymore? Now is a good time to plant some new seeds in your imagination.
A very important point: With Neptune and Uranus retrograde at the same time, the bigger and more eccentrically outside the box your dreams are, the more likely they will manifest once these planets go direct again.
Pluto Retrograde - Stagnation or Transformation?
April 4 - September 11, 2009
Pluto retrograde is about moving up to the next level of awareness and power. To do that you must allow parts of yourself to go to the compost bin. At this stage, since we are in the fourth month of this retrograde, either you are already in the process of composting or you are pretty aware of what you need to compost. Here is where forgiveness rituals for your self help a lot.
Pluto is about death and rebirth, especially, in regard to power and money. Take time to "clean out" and explore money issues and power insecurities. With the economy so unstable it is important to know where you stand. If you can find your own personal ground, you will be better able to hear and act on your inner guidance.
During this retrograde, you and society are more likely to project onto others and create scapegoats. There is also the possibility of the opposite extreme of taking all the blame or condemning our species all together. It is important at this time to strive for understanding and clarification. A situation or interaction always has more than one story or perspective to it. Once you have all the sides of the story, you can then take action to heal or transform it.
In Summary
It is important to remember we are all together in these retrograde influences. Compassion is a great quality to cultivate at this time. Strive to be at home in your Self and give strong yet playful focus to dreaming of a new way of living on this planet. This will bring change in your own life and send out iridescent inspiration into the collective gestating womb. In turn, this will create more ease, grace and health for the emerging butterfly that is our species.
