Greetings!
I can't believe that we're already marching into the holiday season. I know that I am thankful to be living in a happy life that is a little stressful :-) , busy, but so lucky compared the life of many people such as those living in third world countries and even in our own country. One of our long standing clients who has also worked at the studio, Brit Nilsen,has been coming to Purely Pilates since we opened in 2001 when she was still in high school. She has worked at the front desk as a summer job many times. Some of you may know her mother, Paula. Brit has recently graduated from San Diego State and is now planning on going to medical school. Meantime, she has planned a trip to Haiti to bring supplies to the country. If you have any of the goods that Brit is gathering to bring to Haiti, please bring them to the studio and we'll collect as much as possible before her trip. Here's more about Brit and her project! |

Help for Haiti Donation Drive
|
There will be a Donation Drive at Purely Pilates gathering much needed supplies for orphanages in Haiti. Brit will be traveling down to Haiti at the end of December to volunteer and will personally deliver all donated supplies. She'll be working with an organization called Global Family Philanthropy whose mission is to give orphaned Haitian children loving, comfortable homes and provide them with educations. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with the vast majority of its citizens living in poverty and this is a great opportunity to lend a helping hand to those living in such devastating conditions.
Brit has worked previously in an orphanage in Chile and is overwhelmingly excited to travel to Haiti, deliver all of the donations and help care for the children of this tremendously impoverished nation.

| What the Orphanage Needs |
Below is a list of items needed currently by the orphanage, as outlined by the owner of GFP who recently returned from a visit to Haiti.
- Children's and adult's medicine for the pharmacy: painkillers, allergy medicine, eye drops, ear drops, antacids, antibiotic cream, etc.
- sets of WHITE TWIN sheets
- vinyl/plastic TWIN mattress protectors
- cotton TWIN mattress covers
- WHITE bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths
- DVD family/kids movies
- Plastic dishes
- Utensils
- Kitchen supplies
- Hair combs, barrettes, hair ribbon, rubber bands
- Personal hygiene items: soaps, shampoo, nail clippers, etc.

Thanks for any donations that you want to bring. We will have bins at the studio for the supplies.
