Greetings!

Are you ready to become a Power Pilates Teacher? Or are you ready to deepen your education about Classical Pilates? Purely Pilates, the Bay area Affiliate Teacher Training Center for Power Pilates, begins our next cycle of training in June. The Beginner Mat Certification is the prerequisite for all other teacher training programs. You will learn the Power Pilates teaching tools in this weekend, as well as learning to teach the 18 exercises of the beginner mat class. In Intermediate Mat Weekend your teaching tools are reinforced as well and you learn the intermediate exercises and cueing. Finally, in Systems I you will learn beginner/intermediate level for all of the equipment in the four weekends, ending with a test out that will certifiy you to teach the beginner/ intermediate level!

Beginner Mat
 
Course Description
 
The Beginner Mat course is the foundation of all our other programs; every program builds upon the information provided in this course. During this course you will learn 18 Beginner level Mat exercises and be introduced to Power Pilates Teaching Tools (i.e. philosophy, teaching formula, Power Pilates "Art of Teaching").
 
 
Course Objectives
1. Learn the exercises and principles behind a Power Pilates Mat class
2. Learn how to teach a 55-minute Mat class including modifications and variations for advancement
3. Learn to apply the Power Pilates unique and easy-to-follow formula for success
4. Strengthen communication skills necessary to inspire clients and teach Pilates effectively
5. Review anatomy from a Pilates' perspective
 
BEGINNER MAT
June 4-6, 2010 San Carlos, CA
FRI: 2-6pm ∙ SAT: 12-6pm ∙ SUN: 9-3pm
Intermediate Mat
 
Course Description
During the Intermediate Mat course you will learn 12 Intermediate level Mat exercises, where to add them within the sequence of the Beginner level Mat class and continue to develop your teaching skills. These skills will help you to become an excellent instructor. Our students claim that "everything starts to click" during the Intermediate Mat course. Once you complete the Intermediate Mat course, you will have the ability to work with people of all ages and different fitness levels at the same time.

Course Objectives
1. Learn the exercises and principles behind a Power Pilates Mat class
2. Learn how to teach a 55-minute Mat class including modifications and variations for advancement
3. Learn to apply the Power Pilates unique and easy-to-follow formula for success
4. Strengthen communication skills necessary to inspire clients and teach Pilates effectively
5. Review anatomy from a Pilates' perspective

Intermediate Mat
June 18-20, 2010 San Carlos, CA
FRI: 2-6pm ∙ SAT: 12-6pm ∙ SUN: 9-3pm
Systems I
 
Course Description
This Power Pilates System Level 1 is a 2-month program will prepare you to teach Private and Semi-Pprivate sessions on the Apparatus at the Beginner/Intermediate level. You will learn Power Pilates entire Beginner System and several Intermediate level exercises.

Course Objectives
1. Learn the Power Pilates approach, principles and Beginner and Intermediate level exercises
2. Refine the communication skills necessary to inspire and teach Pilates effectively
3. Learn to apply the Power Pilates unique and easy to follow formula for success
4. Learn 55-minute class formats for all level clients including modifications and variations as well as special cases
5. Learn to teach the method as a system integrating the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-O-Pull and Magic Circle for an approach that yields unparalleled results
6. Review anatomy from a Pilates perspective

 
SYSTEM TRAINING LEVEL 1

Weekend 3 August 13-15, 2010
Weekend 4 August 27 & 28, 2010
