When Hope Never Dies
Marlene Marcello-McKenna with Tom Monte
My book recounts my personal journey back to "life" from terminal Stage 4 cancer after the medical establishment sent me home to die and all other standard and experimental treatments protocols offered a small chance of reversing the metastatic disease inside of me. In Part Two of my book, there is a detailed program of healing: healing plant-based diet and healing herbs, mind-body and physical exercises and spiritual practices. To order, visit my website, www.medmacro.com and you can order through a Paypal account.

Greetings!
The Return of Spring At last, after a long winter, New England seems to be thawing out. Those feisty green blades that the daffodils poked up out of the cold soil a few weeks ago, are now sporting bright yellow bonnets. The willow branches are turning chartreuse, as Nature prepares to grace us with her bounty of blossoms and greenery.
This issue highlights some news from PCRM, as well as information on upcoming Health and Wellness exhibitions, plus our "celebrity-of-the-month", Dr. Richard Weeder.
As mentioned in my previous newsletter, When Hope Never Dies has just been published. The book contains updated scientific research about the health benefits of plant-based nutrition, and there is an expanded Wellness Guide, now containing some delicious recipes! The book is available as a softcover and as an e-book. To order your copy now, go to Amazon or to the publishers' website, www.authorhouse.com/Bookstore/BookDetail.aspx?BookId=SKU-000416387 or order through your local bookstores. Peace, love, and good health. Marlene ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Medical News - Vegetarian Diets Lower Risk of Metabolic Syndrome
In what has become known as the Adventist Health Study 2, researchers at Loma Linda University have examined the diets of over 34,000 Seventh-Day Adventists. Seventh-Day Adventists tend to be very mindful of their health habits, and many of them are vegetarian. Studies done on this population have found that in general, the Seventh-Day Adventists suffer from less heart disease and cancer. The most recent study, published in the April 2011 edition of Diabetes Care, show that Adventists also suffer less frequently from metabolic syndrome, a condition which tends to lead to the development of diabetes and heart disease. For more information, please visit the study's website. An abstract of the article may be found at the online edition of Diabetes Care.
