Reading Connection:
I THINK, I AM by Louise Hay, Kristina Tracy
Your thoughts create your life!" This is the message that Louise Hay has been teaching people throughout the world for more than 27 years. Louise Hay's book, You Can Heal Your Life, helped me on my healing journey some 23 years ago!
Now, children can learn and understand the powerful idea that they have control over their thoughts and words, and in turn, what happens in their life.
Within the pages of I Think, I Am children will find out the difference between negative thoughts and positive affirmations. Fun illustrations and simple text demonstrate how to make the change from negative thoughts and words to those that are positive.

MEDICAL CONNECTION:
Soy Reduces Cholesterol in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
A study in next month's Journal of Nutrition found that consumption of soy protein may help people with type 2 diabetes lower their cholesterol levels. Study participants who consumed soy protein reduced LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels and the ratio of LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol significantly more than those who consumed milk protein. The study participants were 29 adults with type 2 diabetes.
This randomized, double-blind study consisted of three phases: a 57-day consumption phase of one protein, a 28-day washout phase, and a 57-day consumption phase of the other protein. The amount of protein consumed from either source equaled 40 grams per day.
High cholesterol is a contributing factor to heart disease, and heart disease affects people with diabetes more than twice as much as those without diabetes.

PERSONAL CONNECTION:
Brenda Cobb's Story (in her own words):
In February 1999 I was diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer. My doctors wanted me to do surgery, chemo and radiation, but I refused those treatments because my own family members had tried that method and either the treatments killed them or the cancer just came back with a vengence. I set out on a quest to learn how to heal my body naturally and began a whole protocol including a vegan raw and living foods diet, cleansing and detoxification and emotional healing. In 6 months I was cancer free.
My doctors were amazed. I knew that I had to share this information with others so I founded the Living Foods Institute in 1999 and began teaching people how they could heal themselves naturally. People have come to the Institute from all over the world and our program continues to be filled with people who are looking for a real way to heal and who know that drugs and surgery are not the answer. So many people have come with not only very far advanced cancers but also with Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Allergies, Arthritis, AIDS, Obesity and so many other diseases that there are just too many to list them all here.
A vegan plant-based diet rich in organic raw and living sprouted foods, herbs, essential oils, superfoods and cleansing can heal anything. I have set up a scholarship fund to help people who need financial assistance to attend my Institute. It is my way of giving back.
Visit www.livingfoodsinstitute.com. Brenda's story is also on Dr T Colin Campbell's website, www.savedbynutrition.org.
