I am co-authoring the book with my good friend and fellow designer Christina Salwitz (aka Personal Garden Coach). Award winning photographer Ashley DeLatour of One Thousand Words photography is the primary photographer.
There are lots of mouth watering, inspirational ideas for your containers and gardens and most importantly we will explain why each design works which we hope gives you the confidence to take our ideas and make them your own.
St. Lynn's Press will be publishing this as a hardback book in time for the Northwest Flower & Garden Show February 2013 but is available for pre-ordering now!
Click on the book cover to save $ and be sure of yours.
We've also got a special Facebook page set up where you can follow along with our Fine Foliage adventures and book development. There'll be some fun 'insider' snippets, great photos and doubtless a few funny stories along the way. Click the buttons below to follow the updates;

DUVALL GOES TROPICAL
Well you'd think so if you could see all the containers lined up by our vegetable garden. There's a monster red banana tree, velvety black elephant ears and sizzling hot canna and dahlias just for starters. Why? I have been asked to design tropical themed containers for a Better Homes and Gardens special publication called Deck, Patio and Pool which will be on the newsstands summer 2013. Debra Prinzing is writing the article which means I get to do the fun stuff! Photos will be taken early September and I'll be sure to post a few on my website for you to enjoy.

ANOTHER GREAT OPPORTUNITY
Many of you will be familiar with Houzz, a comprehensive idea-book styled website where you can get inspiration from everything on redecorating your living room to planning the perfect garden. I have been invited to be the garden writer for the Pacific Northwest region and will be contributing articles twice a month. being regional specific you can be sure I won't be discussing when your mangoes are due to ripen but if you live in the hot Southern States other writers will. A great resource and a wonderful writing opportunity for me.

MY PARSNIPS WILL BE IN A NEW BOOK TOO!
Now to understand the title you may need to quickly read my blog post called Priceless Parsnips....
Assuming you're back, Niki Jabbour, author of The Year Round Vegetable Gardener, has asked if she can include plans and details of our recently completed vegetable garden in her new book due out next year! She read the above blog post, loved it and decided her readers would to. An honor and rewarding after months of trench digging and hammering.
