A new Generac Industrial Power logo has been created along with a comprehensive branding system featuring distinct dark gray and black colors. The Benefits of Sealed Electrical Connectors
|
Wire and cable connections are a vulnerable point in any electrical device - subject to vibration, dust, moisture and other hazards that may cause an interruption of power, control, or data transmission. A generator, even in a weather protective enclosure, can be vulnerable to the elements - from summer thunderstorms and winter blizzards to salt air - hostile elements may cause a connection failure at the time when the unit may be needed most. All Generac gensets utilize plug-in sealed electrical connectors to minimize the chance of an interruption in service. Sealed connectors provide benefits you may not be aware of including:
- Ease of serviceability - our plug and play technology makes troubleshooting and diagnostic checks easy. Parts are easy to switch out, translating into lower costs for service visits.
- No components exposed to weather and/or oxidative corrosion mean increased reliability
- Added value - sealed components last longer, increasing the lifespan of your generator

Cobb County Locks In Emergency Power for its Adult Detention Center
Cobb voters approved the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) in 2005 to fund important transportation and public safety projects. Since then, significant progress has been made in many areas, including the jail expansion, new courthouse project and transportation improvements. Cobb citizens are enjoying new parks, improved roads and other facilities that improve quality of life throughout the county.
In 2007 SPLOST funds were used to start a $100 million expansion of the Cobb Adult Detention. Approaching completion this month, the jail expansion will add more than 320,000 square feet and 1,152 beds to the facility, bringing its capacity to 3,077 prisoners. The facility is primarily a pretrial detention center run by the Cobb County Sheriff's Office.
After careful assessment of the detention facilities needs, the electrical engineering firm Rosser International chose to design three (3) Generac 600 kW MPS Diesel Generators in parallel totaling 1800 kW along with 600A (Life Safety) and 3000A (Equipment) ASCO Bypass Isolation Switches. Pro Power Solutions furnished this complete system to Turner Logistics, the general contractor on the project, and the electricians at Excel Electrical Technologies installed this modular power system. We are sure voters are happy to hear that the project was completed on time and under budget.
