Perennial of the Month
Geum
Geums--Single and double flowers in bright orange, yellow and red - long season bloomer (April thru late summer), then remove spent blooms.  Foliage is a lush green with divided leaves. Sun to part shade if you live inland from here. This is one of my favorites.  I have mine planted with daylillies, helleborus, cornflowers, jupiters beard & astilbe.

                                   Tree of the Month
                        Flowering Cherry
Signs of spring begins with buds starting to burst from the cherry, then coming into
full bloomflowering cherry of pink and white colors.  Some are fragrant and some are upright while others grow out like an umbrella. The fall color of yellow/orange is a pleasant contrast with the reds and oranges of the maples.
