Louise photo Greetings!

It is spring at the Last Door and the residents are getting involved in some fun activities - the Last Door team finished 5th in the corporate sector of the fun run, and more importantly, finished all together. A few people attended the North Shore Roundup and played Dodge Ball with AA fellows on the North Shore. Both houses, Youth and Adult will be attending the Kelowna Campout June 19, 20 and 31, 2009. As usual we are kept busy attending the one, two and three year cakes of residents and staff.
We had a "planting" marathon last Sunday - Matt's Dad donated a bunch of shrubs and greenery so we were able to spruce up the grounds - looks fantastic!
There is thankfully a lull in the renovation projects - we all need a rest.

Just a reminder,  this year  is the  10th Anniversary of the Door Slam. Time really flies and so do the balls. We are just entering the planning stages but anyone who would like to get involved as a volunteer is welcome. Watch the website for notice of Door Slam Committee meetings.

Last Door Recovery Society will be holding its AGM in the next couple months - we have not nailed down the date yet, but, again, watch that website.

Regards to all...

Alumni Gratitude Corner

A little over 3 years ago I was scared, hopeless and had no faith left in anything or anyone. When I first arrived at The Last Door I was welcomed and felt safe for the first time in a long time. The love and caring I was shown gave me the desire to stay here and after some time my life began to improve.

Today I am over 3 years clean, working towards a career that I love and have tons of people that I care about and care about me. I come back to the house and see that the love shown to the new guys coming in is the same as the love that was shown to me. I know that lives continue to be changed and improved; this makes me proud to be a part of Last Door
