Letter from Louise Greetings!
It has been another fast paced fun filled few months! A couple of things stand out - one item of note is that Larry Reimer, one of our valued Board Members, has resigned. Larry wants to spend more time with his family and on personal matters, he also feels Last Door is making good progress and will be fine without him. Replacing him on the Board is Rob Hurst who is bringing his "higher power" with him. A second item of note is that our old friend and colleague Nick Ringma is back working at the Door. Nick says he felt a bit fazed trying to get up to snuff on all the new things and people at the Door. However, true to form, Nick is back in the groove and everyone is happy to have him on board. Just a reminder to everyone that David and I look forward to seeing you at the Black Tie Dinner and Auction on May 9th @ the Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver. It seems a bit surreal that 25 years have passed already and we want to take the opportunity to connect and celebrate at that event. Also - it may be your one and only opportunity EVER to see David dressed up!

Westminster Savings Foundation awards $19,500 grant to Last Door tutoring Program The Westminster Savings Foundation has been giving back to the communities in which we live and work since 1992. As one of the largest credit union foundations in Canada, it supports local charitable groups in the areas of health, education, social services, youth activities and culture.
Since its first donation the Foundation has distributed over 1.7 million dollars to community groups in the belief that working together towards a more vibrant, healthy and prosperous society will benefit us all.

Co - Parenting Group now offered "what an amazing experience to see the look in every dads eye" The Co-Parenting group has a commitment from every dad there to work on the strengths of their recovery to build better more meaningful relationships with their kids and their abilities to co parent. We are very excited that this group is being offered to these men to help with the healing process that is necessary for healthier co parenting. We meet every Tuesday to offer support and education and facilitate the importance of consistency and the spirit of collaboration for them to continue their recovery in all aspects of their lives.

Alumni Gratitude Corner
I never would have thought this could be possible - ME - 14 months clean and loving life. I was scared, overwhelmed and intimidated by the positive energy I found in the main house's living room when I first arrived in New Westminster. That energy is what keeps me clean as well as the friendships I've made at the Last Door.
I have a full time job, I pay my child support, I see my kids and most importantly I am a good father today because I live the door boy way with these values integrity, dignity and morality.

Thanks Last Door, Sean C
