AUM/TC Annual Christmas Musical
Friday, December 9th, come from home, from work, from shopping - to a dinner and Christmas musical at Pullman Presbyterian, Chicago.

Bring your donation of non-perishable food to help us reach our goal to help 1000 needy families in communities around the AUM/TC churches. Monetary donation will go to help needs from college tuition to keeping the lights on for affected families. All donations will be blessed during the service.

2012 Middle School Winter Retreat
January 27-29, 2012 East Bay Camp - 24248 Ron Smith Memorial Hwy, Hudson, IL Cost: $90, scholarships are available
This retreat is open to all middle School youth (grades 6-8) and their friends in Chicago and Blackhawk Presbyteries. Your time will be spent having fun, enjoying music, making new friends and hearing inspiring messages on the topic of "Surrendering to God." There's lots of great free time options too, like basketball, outdoor games, and an indoor pool.

Enlivening Congregational Song Seminar
Do you have a passion for congregational singing?
Looking for ways to strengthen your congregation's singing?
Interested in diversifying your congregation's song and repertoire?
This five-session seminar (starting January 2012) is a unique opportunity to work with a small group of worship and music leaders in a focused, hands-on learning experience in enlivening congregational singing.
Read for more details--including a syllabus and feedback from some of the dozens of persons who've participated in this seminar. Cost of all five sessions and materials is $150.The days and times of the seminar will be arranged to fit the schedules of the participants.

New Orleans Mission Trip
This winter, a group of McCormick Seminary students will be participating in an outreach ministry of St Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church (Presbytery of South Louisiana) called Rebuilding Hope in New Orleans (RHINO). RHINO helps residents rebuild physically and spiritually. Students will be building homes and meeting the needs of displaced residents during this mission trip, January 21-28.   Melva Lowry is originally from Atlanta but part of the Northeast Georgia Presbytery. She will be participating in the Mission Trip with McCormick. She has done other mission trips from Puerto Rico and the Middle East and is looking forward to doing local mission helping those here in the United States. Your church can sponsor Melva and other students going to New Orleans, and invite students to come speak about the trip upon their return. Contact Rev. JC Cadwallader for more information. |

Worship Alive! Scholarships

The Worship, Music, and the Arts (WMA) Work Group of the Presbytery of Chicago is offering scholarships to Worship Alive! in honor of the memory of Charles E. Dickerman, former WMA moderator and newsletter editor. The Worship Alive! workshops are for those individuals interested in planning and leading worship. Learn more about Worship Alive! workshop topics, dates, and locations.
Scholarship applicants must be a non-clergy member of a church within the Presbytery of Chicago. Scholarships are limited to two people from each congregation.
