Mission at Fourth Presbyterian Church and Chicago Lights Center for Whole Health are one of the many sponsors for this walk and are letting their congregation and community know how to participate in the walk. Your church can participate by becoming a sponsor and/or register online to walk in order to bring about awareness and prevent suicide.

Children of Abraham: Christians Study Islam and the Qur'an

 

 


An ecumenical group will gather to learn about Islam and the Qur'an.

Participants will explore issues such as Islam and politics, women and family in Islam, and the so-called "clash of civilizations." Considerable discussion will be devoted to a comparison of the Bible and the Qur'an texts on such topics as God and creation, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mary. Download brochure for more information.

Consultant and author Gil Rendle will present a study of his book "Journey in the Wilderness: New Life for Mainline Churches" on Friday, Oct. 28, in Urbana, Ill. This Basic Interim/Transitional Ministry Education consists of 60 contact hours divided equally between two Residency Weeks -Week I (30 hours) and Week II (30 hours) separated by a Practicum which combines reflection on, and experience in, some aspect of interim/transitional ministry.
