Divorce Recovery Ministry - Western Suburbs

7 week workshop, beginning August 4

Using the text "The Fresh Start - Divorce Recovery Workbook," Rev. Cindy Karis and Stephen Minister Todd Goll will facilitate a workshop for folks who have experienced divorce or are going through divorce. To sign up or ask any questions, email ckaris@knoxpres.org or call (630) 615-4308. 

This Basic Interim/Transitional Ministry Education consists of 60 contact hours divided equally between two Residency Weeks -Week I (30 hours) and Week II (30 hours) separated by a Practicum which combines reflection on, and experience in, some aspect of interim/transitional ministry. 

Registration is limited, so please encourage those who are appropriate for this training and this ministry to sign up early!

Nominate a Youth Advisory Delegate (YAD)

It is our great hope that you will take the time to extend an invitation to gifted young people (ages 17-23) in your congregation to apply to be the YAD for Presbytery of Chicago in 2012, and to follow through with the recommendation process.  Application deadline is Friday, July 29, 2011.

Harold Colbert Jones
Memorial Community Center

Jones Center has been a mission of the Presbytery since Church Extension Board received title to their Chicago Heights real estate in 1917 and oversaw its construction in the 1930s. Today, the Jones Center needs a new roof. CROP Walk Planning Committee

Serve on the planning committee to help plan the Chicago CROP Hunger Walk. The planning committee deals with a variety of tasks. We need talent and people with contacts to do media/publicity for the Crop Walk, getting sponsors (financial and in kind product) for the walk, and recruit support (telephone, tracking, etc).
