2011 Clergy Retreat Schedule and Invitation

The annual Clergy Retreat begins Sunday, January 30. The featured speaker is Dr. Ken Bailey, one of the premier Middle East New Testament scholars in the PCUSA.. Dr. Bailey has produced a number of video series on the teachings of the New Testament. He is a master teacher. The retreat is being held at St. Mary of the Lake conference center of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein.
You can see the entire schedule for the retreat here....
The plan group has invited those in our congregations to join the Retreat for Dr. Bailey's keynote address - Sunday, January 30, 7:30 PM in room 102 in Conference Center Hall. We urge you to extend this invitation to your congregation.
The University of St Mary of the Lake is located near the intersection of routes 45 and 176. There are campus entrances from route 45 just about a mile north of route 176 and off route 176 less than a mile east of route 45. Follow the entrance drives to signs for Conference Center Parking. From the parking lot follow the signs to Conference Center hall.
Conference center hall is just next to the main chapel building - with the tall clock spire. Enter the hall from the ramp entrance on the courtyard between Conference Hall and the Residence Hall - the courtyard is on the side of Conference Hall opposite the chapel. Using that entrance room 102 is to the right, at the end of the corridor.
For more details contact Bob Crall, pastor of Kirk of the Lakes Presbyterian Church in Mundelein - 847 949 6179 or Jay Basler from the Retreat Plan Group - 847 949 6179. |

The Congo Education Excellence Project is Appealing for Your Help:
Due to the war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its government's lack of support for education, its 684 Presbyterian Schools are in critical need of durable buildings; books; teacher training programs; scholarships; and vehicles.
A group of U.S and Congolese Presbyterians have joined forces to raise funds for these schools by forming the Congo Education Excellence Project (CEEP).
Please ask your church and civic organization to join this 'war for
quality education':
- invite a speaker and video presentation on the children and schools of the Congo;
- crochet and sell beautiful necklaces to raise funds; and
- donate to the Congo Education Excellence Project.
