MARKETPLACE LESSONS
|
On Sunday night (after the Super Bowl) I watched the premiere of 'Undercover Boss.' Larry O'Donnell, President and COO of Waste Management Inc. went undercover in his own company for a week, working entry level jobs with the 'regulars.'
While some of this reality show may be hokey, it quickly clarifies both the larger issues that are facing today's workforce and how out-of-touch the 'boss' is with the day-to-day work life of many of his employees.
Not only is the show worth a watch, the exercise is worth a try too.
LESSON LEARNED:"The broader the perspective (of your organization), the more accurate the view (and the better the possibility for improvement)." -Sam Geist
