Young Audiences is pleased to host and participate in a wide-range of community events that promote creative learning through the arts. Find listings for the whole summer here.

Young Audiences Children's Week with M&T Bank

  • Friday, August 3, PUSH Physical Theatre and face painters 
  • Hands-on Visual Arts Workshop with Christy Zucarelli at 1pm in the West Room

Canalside Programming - Saturdays & Sundays through Sept. 9

Almost every Saturday and Sunday for the entire summer local artists programming held on Saturdays, 11am-12pm and local history programming on Sundays, 12pm-1pm.  Please note there is no Young Audiences Canalside programming for the next two weekends.  We resume on August 11.

 

Saturday August 11

  • Become a SuperDancer with LehrerDance at 11am
  • Journey Through Gypsy Jazz with Babik at noon 
Sunday August 12
  • Nancy Goes to Seneca Falls with Annette Daniels Taylor at noon
  • Mapping the Road to Canaan with Annette Daniels Taylor at 1pm 

Saturday August 18  Benefit Banner

  • Making Music with Miriam Minkoff with Miriam Minkoff at 11am
  • Art of Breakdancing with Differential Flavor Crew at noon

Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts - Saturday August 25- KidsFest Tent - Lexington Co-op parking lot

This annual community celebration promotes the arts, environmentalism and community involvement. This year we are there to celebrate our 50th year of service with whole day of creative family programming with our artists.

  • Mama Earth's Kitchen Show with Susie Rozler at 11am
  • Bailamos: Latin Dance & Rhythm with Sarah Haykel at 12pm
  • Erie Canal Sal with Gretchen Murray Sepik at 1pm From Africa to America with Celes Tisdale at 2pm
  • All Together Now: Improvisation Show with Defiant Monkey at 3pm
  • World of Wonders with Dramatic Solutions and the Wondermakers at 4pm
  • Ukulele Show with Stuart Fuchs at 5pm
  • From Africa to America with Celes Tisdale at 2pm

Young Audiences of Western New York has developed and delivered education programs in all arts disciplines - music, dance, theatre, literary, visual and media arts - to more than 3 million children in the eight counties of Western New York.  Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our fifty years and the  creative accomplishments of the children we have served.

Young Audiences Creative Family Events
Young Audiences hosts and participates in a number of community events that promote creative learning through the arts. These community activities feature interactive workshops and performances, and are often free of charge.
