CREATIVE FAMILY EVENTS

 

Join us in celebrating 50 years of service to WNY, all summer long

 

Young Audiences is pleased to host and participate in a wide-range of community events that promote creative learning through the arts. Find listings for the whole summer here.

  • Mail Art with Gerald Mead at 5-7pm in the Education Classroom
  • Trick the Devil with Rodney Appleby at 5:30pm in the Auditorium  
  • Catch the Reading Bug! with Dramatic Solutions and the Wondermakers at 6:30pm in the Auditorium 

Second Saturday at Central Library at 1pm

  • Erie Canal Traveling Museum: Traveling on the Erie Canal with Melissa Kate at 1pm - July 14   

Canalside Programming - Saturdays & Sundays through Sept. 9

Almost every Saturday and Sunday for the  entire summer  local artists programming held on Saturdays, 11am-12pm and local history programming on Sundays, 12pm-1pm

  • Bailamos: An introduction to Latin Dance & Rhythm with Sarah Haykel at 11am
  • America the Beautiful with Glenn Colton at 12pm
Sunday July 8  
  • Architecture + Education with American Institute of Architects Buffalo WNY at 12pm
  • Erie Canal Sal with Gretchen Murray Sepik at 1pm  
Saturday July 14
  • Poetry Workshop with Robin Brox at 11am
  • Exploring Jazz with Ladies First at 12pm 
Sunday July 15
  • Mapping the Road to Canaan with Annette Daniels-Taylor at 12pm
  • Poetic Voices with Njozi Poets at 1pm

  • Soul Portraits: Poetry of the Heart, Mind, and Body workshop and performance with Gayle Danley at 11am- 1pm

Sunday July 22

Marking 50 Years of Service 
Young Audiences of Western New York has developed and delivered education programs in all arts disciplines -music, dance, theatre, literary, visual and media arts -to more than 3 million children in the eight counties of Western New York.  Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our fifty years and the  creative accomplishments of the children we have served.

Young Audiences Creative Family Events
Young Audiences hosts and participates in a number of community events that promote creative learning through the arts. These community activities feature interactive workshops and performances, and are often free of charge.
