Schedule an important meeting.....with yourself!
We've all heard many versions of the popular advice to "prioritize your own needs" but where is the guidebook that tells how to really make it happen? Read on!
You're a very responsible person. You follow through on your crucial commitments for your job or for your family members. But, how do you make sure these important appointments and meetings happen? You make notes in your calendar or your computer - they may be recurring events or a single appointment, but you know that if you don't write them down and take them seriously, they won't happen and someone will be let down. But what about things you need to do for yourself? Do you take those things as seriously as you do things for your boss or your kids? If exercising or taking some quiet time every day are important things just for you , do you make sure that they happen? What about completing personal projects that you care about. Do you put them lower down on your list, below everything else for other people? Try turning around your thinking on this: How about thinking of yourself as one of those important people to not let down!
Does this issue sound familiar to you?? If so, I invite you to take the simple challenge below and please let me know what you notice when you do so. |
