Greetings, Down here, in Florida, we officially start hurricane season this week. The forecasters are calling for an above average hurricane season this year. That's just great. We've got 200,000 barrels of crude floating around the gulf looking for a good beach to hit and now we'll start seeing hurricanes roll in over the next 18 weeks. Could be the perfect storm for the Florida Tourist Business this year. They've already started posting signs on the beach.
It will be a lean tourist season but most assuredly we'll get certain types of visitors before this oil mess is cleaned up.
While BP and the regulators figure out how to cap the gusher and who to scapegoat for the mess there is an even bigger and more dangerous gusher that needs to be fixed.
The mid-term elections should be rather interesting this year as both Democrats and Republicans roll out their new models with different grills, bumpers and white sidewalls on the tires. The public is becoming more and more frustrated with this old political model as it's becoming quite difficult to accept policy from the extreme left controlling the Democrats and the extreme right controlling the Republicans.
The majority of Americans are in the middle of these extremes and are dissatisfied with both parties. The voters are sensing that the politicians from both parties are ignoring their demands.
