On August 2nd, Heroes on the Water was recognized by CANOE & KAYAK Magazine with the Paddle with a Purpose Award.

Held at the Outdoor Retailers Show in Salt Lake City,

the award recognized Heroes on the Water for "the most inspiring paddling effort, organization or expedition to a philanthropic cause".

Kody Wilson, 10 Week BAMC Coordinator and wounded veteran attended the event and said, "this award was held up high for all the people that have been involved with HOW and continue to make great things happen."
