Heroes on the WaterMemorial Day
Greetings!

On Monday, May 28, 2012, Americans across the country will pause throughout the day to observe Memorial Day. It is a day of remembrance and a celebration in memory of all who have fought for and defended our right to freedom.

What will you do to make your Memorial Day matter? You can help injured veterans and their families who are dealing with wounds from the Global War on Terror. You can help them find peace and healing in the unique therapy of fishing from kayaks.

Kayak fishing has become a powerful and liberating source of rehabilitation - shattering the perceived limits of their injuries - creating an openness to interact, learn new skills, and focus on the bright future ahead. A gift to Heroes on the Water directly helps our wounded warriors enjoy life more fully.

Give now to Heroes on the Water and make your holiday count for something!

In honor and remembrance of those who have served,

Peace overcomes life's issues...
Kayak fishing my only habit!

Heroes on the Water has brought great credit and honor for our heroes. The struggle for support of our young soldiers and sailors has been the longest and hardest fought battle.  In the past we were dumped in civilian life without help or guidance.  HOW has helped me realize that we are of value to this nation and that working together we can continue to fight for our country. Brooke Army Medical Center played a role in saving my life when medically discharged from the US Navy; but HOW played a major role in healing my pride and confidence.

Thank you HOW for making kayak fishing my only habit!  It is the only time the worries and thoughts fade and peace overcomes life's issues and heals old wounds.

Nov 1965 to May 2001, US Navy (retired)
