Finally, it is beginning to feel like summer outside! Great for vacations, but not great for our skin. Hot, humind days can lead to rashes, break outs, and irritations. This is a great time to check with an esthetician about your skin's needs since everyone's skin reacts to the heat differently.

Cool Tips for Hot Days!
It is finally hot!!! Not that we're complaining! Just a few quick tips to keep in mind when the temps rise:
- Use skin products that are mattifying to help control shine and keep oil production on your skin down. Jane Iredale has great blotting papers to decrease surface oil.
- Less is more- wear lighter make-up in the heat to decrease clogging pores. Water-based make-up is best in the heat.
- Use lighter hair products since many break outs occur along the hairline where the hair products come in contact with your skin.
- Use products such as Skin Ceuticals Phloretin CF which have a natural drying effect on your skin to keep down blemishes from excess oil.
- It may be basic, but we often forget this one- Keep your hands off your face!
- Don't forget your sunblock!!
Just because it is summer, doesn't mean your skin has to suffer!

"Saddlebags"
Question: I'm 5'8" tall with a slender build weighing 144 lbs. I have "saddlebags", cellulite on my outer thighs and buttocks. Would I be a good candidate for liposuction? And what are the risks? Answer:
Saddlebags are regions of fat accumulations involving the outer  thighs. They are often very exercise resistant and can cause significant aesthetic problems, especially in a bathing suit. Generally, these areas respond very well to liposuction. In contrast, cellulite (dimpling within the skin and fat) is a difficult problem to treat and can be made worse by liposuction. A thorough consultation will determine whether or not liposuction is appropriate given the physical findings.

Meet the Staff:
Janet- Manager AOS Latham
 Anyone who has been to our Latham office knows that they can find Janet smiling at the front desk and managing the day to day operations.
Janet began working at Accent after a long career in healthcare both at St. Clare's Hospital and through her work with EMS. Janet has been a volunteer for over 25 years with the Midway Fire Department and Town of Colonie Emergency Services as a critical care technician and firefighter.
In addition to her career, Janet has a wonderful husband, two children, and two grandchildren. She and her husband are involved in the Capital District Scottish Games, enjoy their camp in Maine, and enjoy spending time in Mexico. She has also volunteered on surgical mission trips with Dr. Fox to the Dominican Republic through Surgeons for Underserved Nations.
