Breast Implants
Q: Are breast implants safe? A: On November 17th , 2006 the U.S. Food & Drug Administration issued approval to market silicone gel-filled breast implants in the United States. These implants have been scrutinized more than any other medical device. Now both silicone gel-filled and saline implants are available in the United States offering patients and their plastic surgeons more treatment options.
Breast implants have never been shown to cause major diseases in women (i.e. neurological disorders, connective tissue diseases, cancer, etc.) but they are not risk free. Some risks include rupture, pain, infection, and hardness of the breast which can occur years after implants are placed. Breast implants are not lifetime devices and will need to be replaced eventually.
Nevertheless, satisfaction rate with breast augmentation is very high (improved self-esteem) and it ranks second only to liposuction in terms of top surgical cosmetic procedures.

| Medical Mission
Dr. Fox is at it again!
Only Dr. Fox would stumble upon a medical mission while on vacation! After discovering the mission a couple of weeks ago on her vacation in the Yucantan Penninsula of Mexico, Dr. Fox gave up 3 full days of her time-off to triage and operate on over 45 patients.
Upon seeing how much additional work remained to be done, she decided to assemble a team to go down this June to do follow-up appointments and additional surgeries. Dr. Fox has a long history of volunteering her surgical services all around the world. In the next few weeks we will be adding a page on our website with information on her history of mission work.
We applaud her for her efforts and continue, as always, to be impressed by her philanthropic spirit!
