Skin Care:
Hormonal Aging
One of the most common complaints we hear in skin care is "I have never had problems with breakouts and now that I am older I am experiencing breakouts/pimples, oil, and enlarged pores. Why?" The most common answer is "hormones".
There is such a thing as Hormonal Aging. Women who never had breakouts in their lives may find they now get pimples in their 40's, 50's and 60's. The reason is as they age they have less estrogen to suppress the sebum (oil) - stimulating androgen (hormone) circulating thru their bodies. For the same reason, they may experience more facial hair and also perspire more.
Your skin type may change with different life situations such as pregnancy, menopause or a move to a more dry or humid climate. So you may need to make changes in the way you care for it.
Let the Aestheticians at Accent on Skin give your skin the attention it deserves with its ever changing needs.
Warm up this November with a Cocoa enzyme peel for dull, clogged and congested skin or a Raspberry enzyme peel for the severely pigmented. Soothing steam and warm towels help to activate the enzyme as you relax and enjoy your treatment, perfect for these cold damp days.
