Skin Care:
Hydration
                            Water drop

Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body?  We strive to take care of ourselves by eating healthy, exercising, and getting enough rest, but somehow, our skin gets neglected.
One simple way to keep skin soft and supple and looking healthy is by drinking water.  Dehydrated skin can appear more wrinkled, aged and the pores appear larger.  When our skin's health is compromised, bacteria can invade.  By staying hydrated, you can not only add a healthy glow to your complexion, but you can also help your skin protect the rest of your body.
An easy tip for how much water you should consume daily is to take your body weight and divide it in half.  That is the number of ounces of water you should consume daily for skin and body health.
Come in to Accent On Skin to meet with one of our estheticians for more information on ways to make your skin look young and feel healthy!

Ask the Doctor:
EyesEyes

Question:  How invasive is eyelid surgery?

Answer:  The eyes are the focal point of the face and eyelid surgery can significantly enhance one's appearance.  Generally speaking, most eyelid surgery can be performed in the office as an outpatient procedure with sedation and local anesthesia.  Eyelid surgery can range from relatively simple laser resurfacing procedures to smooth wrinkles or it can involve the surgical removal of excess skin and fat, especially for individuals with significant bags under their eyes.  Recovery is generally very quick and pain is minimal.

Question: Can plastic Surgery remove wrinkles from the neck and drooping skin beneath your chin?

Answer:  The most common surgical procedure for removing loose skin from the neck is a standard face lift.  The term facelift is somewhat of a misnomer.  The name would imply that only the face is lifted and reshaped:  however, the primary goal is really to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline (lower face).  The other option for neck improvement is to directly excise loose skin and fat under the chin.  This leaves a scar on the neck and is usually best reserved for men who do not want a facelift and will grow a beard.
