Greetings!
Hooray February! One month closer to our annual 5K walk for autism! As you may know, we've added a run to this year's 5K so all you runners out there, start training! Our walk/run website is http://www.asadayton5kwalk.kintera.org Register to participate, join a team, or form a team! We have lots of help this year and lots of exciting things planned so don't miss it!
And while we wait patiently for spring, mark your calendar and be sure to join us on February 18 from 6:30-8 PM as we welcome Maggie Gehler, MA, PCC from Hope Restored Counseling Services, LLC. Maggie will present a workshop aimed at families who have a child with special needs. Learn how to strengthen your marriage and manage your emotions in light of the complexities of your daily life. RSVP to Shelli if you plan to attend. This meeting is always free and open to the public and is held at the MV Regional Center, 4801 Springfield St., Dayton, OH 45431.
Be sure to purchase your Community Days coupon booklet at our meeting on the 18th or online at http://www.communitydayevent.com Search for Autism Society-Dayton. Booklet is $5 and includes a $10 off coupon plus additional savings and door busters. Our organization keeps 100% of the proceeds and will be used to ensure our walk is a success! Community Day coupons can be used on Saturday, Feb. 27 at any Bon-Ton store (Elder-Beerman, Parisian, etc). Thank you for your continued support!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and as a recent advertisement I saw put it, add a little "Bau chicka wau wau" to your sweetheart's day!

SAVE THE DATE!

The Autism Society recognizes that families and individuals living with an autism spectrum disorder have a range of issues and needs. The National Conference of the Autism Society is the only conference that addresses the range of issues, including early intervention, education, employment, behavior, communication, social skills, biomedical interventions and others, across the entire lifespan. Bringing together the expertise and experiences of family members, professionals and individuals on the spectrum, attendees are able to learn how to more effectively advocate and obtain supports for the individual with ASD. The ultimate goal is to empower family members, individuals on the spectrum and professionals to make informed decisions.
