Counting Coins, Delivering Bad News and Robot Recruiters
Greetings!

Good morning. I hope your Thursday is going well so far. It's been a bit of busy week for the recruiting world. A busy week in the midst of a busy month. Conferences down? 1. Check out our final word on the ERE Expo. Conferences to go this month? 2. RecruitFest! in Toronto next week and HR Tech in Chicago on Sept 30.

If movement is any sign that people are starting to get hopeful again, start hoping. Jobing purchased Cheezhead last week and announced it during ERE. Check out our video interview with Joel Cheesman. Also in recruiting news, Dayak was purchased by RecruitHire, leaving bloggers to speculate if there's value in the marketplace style of such products.

Get ready for a great webinar. Amitai Givertz, RBC's editor at large, has developed a series of half hour webinars aimed at showing recruiters how to take advantage of Google's suite of tools. And if you're a member of Recruitingblogs.com, admission is free. Mark your calendars for Sept 29, 30 and Oct 1 and register now.

Sandra doesn't pull any punches...ever and she doesn't again today in Thursday Thrasher. Are you a robot recruiter? Did you never get past page 1 in the training manual? Sandra's got some words for you.

Delivering bad news isn't easy and it's less easy when you've had a string of candidates strike out. Darrin Grella shares his tips on how to do it right.

Do you have a fever? Could be CSMD (Chronic Social Media Disorder). There's no cure, but commiserating with Rayanne in Today's Bonus Track might help.

You might have noticed some changes in your navigation bar. While I'm sure they'll take some getting used to, we've noticed that the RecruitingBlogs.com family is growing. The more direct navigation should help new members understand how they can use all the cool features we have here. It's nearly all verb based, so just choose what you want to do and click that verb. The drop down menu wil help you find the right page. We're planning on iplementing the same thing on the Main site but have (as always) run into technical difficulties. We'll keep you posted.

Have a great day!
