President Tom again made a call for nominees for the Hixson Award. If you feel that some Club member should be recognized in this fashion, please pass on the name to one of the Club officers or Board members.
Concerning the upcoming softball tournament, Tom Plechaty gave us the shocking news that we have more than enough people to operate the beer tent but need people to work the gate Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening.

On the bags tournament, Adam Bain and the committee have, after much deliberation, enlisted the aid of Gene "Don't Call Me Birdie" Smith to serve as the enforcer for enlisting participants and teams. Dale Grabau shared an anecdote of some friends he has who happen to own a pretty nice car. Apparently, the owner needed to fill up the gas tank and brought along a 14-year-old granddaughter. The granddaughter asked if she could help fill up the car and explained that she often helped out her parents when she went with them to the gas station. Unfortunately, the number of selections available was a bit too expansive and, confused by the array of nozzles, she accidently filled the tank with diesel fuel. If he had been in attendance, your Editor is sure that Mike Bell's retort would be, "Don't gamble."
In Fun and Fellowship, Bob Tapprich won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club - all $4. The Kartel won the opportunity to go for the grand prize and, in a cruel twist of fate, won the prize.
