Club President, Tom Ketelaar, called the April 9 meeting to order. Jonathan Turner wasn't able to attend the meeting. Rumor has it that there was some unfortunate incident involving brightly-colored Easter eggs.
John Califf made two announcements. The first involved the next-scheduled Interclub to be held in Bettendorf on April 24. If you would be interested or need a ride, or would just like to drive around with John, feel free to give him a call. The grants committee will be meeting on April 23, immediately after the Club meeting, for the purpose of reviewing, discussing, analyzing, shaping, molding, and pureeing grants which have been brought to Club attention to date.
Club bowling maven, "Whispering Liz" Loveless reminded us of the Division bowling extravaganza to be held April 22. There is still time to shake the dust off that favorite polyester bowling shirt and show everyone how you roll.
Regarding the NCAA pool which Liz barely managed to get off the ground before the tournament was over, Jud Briggs took second place and Bob Wakefield took first place.
President Tom reminded us to get our Club participation points into our KARMA team leaders.
Rose Day is the 25th. If you haven't gotten your orders in by now, it may be too late unless you can ask Rose Queen and past Club President, Denise "Don't Call Me Daphne" Ormsby. She may relent if you promise to have a few dozen delivered to her workplace.
Chris Elsberg made an announcement concerning First Day Fund which can still use participating helpers in this critically-needed program.
In Fun and Fellowship, Tom Smith won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. Bob Tapprich won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, which he managed not to take home with him. |
