President Tom Ketelaar called the meeting of March 12 to order. Jonathan Turner provided the entertainment, along with his NCAA Kiwanis Dunkers.
President Tom's first announcement concerned the next Division midyear meeting to be held March 31. Please contact Tom if you'd like to attend.
Tom next announced that the annual Division Bowl-A-Thon will be held here in the Quad Cities at Milan Lanes at 1:00 p.m. on April 22. Once again, Liz Loveless will serve as team captain. If you'd like to participate, remember to do your stretching exercises before you try to bend over and lace up those bowling shoes.
The Club's annual meeting will be held in May, at which time, next year's officers will be elected.
Rose Day is coming up, and Tom Plechaty will be overseeing this project again. Books of order cards are available, so dust off that checkbook and make a few points.
In a somewhat different twist, the Club NCAA basketball pool will be circulated next week. Yes, it is possible that when the chart comes around, you may find yourself selecting teams that have already lost, but hey, it's all for a good cause, right?
Tom next presented Joe Robb with team treats in recognition of his team's membership participation drive. Make sure you inform your team leader of any Kiwanis activities that might generate points for your team.
John Califf announced that the next Interclub will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 19 in Annawan. For those of you who'd like to see how a very strong, loyal, but small Club operates, come on out.
In Fun and Fellowship, Ron Quay won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. In a rare event, his ticket was also drawn for the grand prize, but the wiley Mike Bell kept the money for the Club. |
