Jeff Behrens once again filled in as presiding officer at our February 6 meeting. Our out-and-in President took a turn in the audience this week. Once again, Jonathan Turner entertained us with his skilled musical virtuosity.
Jeff started the announcements with his reference to the various pancake events going on in the Division.
Jeff also announced that the new directories were available, and we can now get all that personal information we've been waiting for on Sheila Guse, Tom Hanson and Bruce Harding.
In our membership drive, the Joe Robb team has now vaulted into the point lead.
Our soon-to-be-famous Use It or Luge It outing will be held February 20. This has become a very fun-filled event, so be sure you encourage youth in your family to take this up.
Jeff reminded Board members that there will be a meeting on February 14 for a nice Valentine's Day lunch with the Club leadership.
John Califf announced that the next Interclub would be trekking out to Geneseo on February 28. John also thanked the seven Club members who attended the East Moline/Silvis Club Interclub meeting which, to John's surprise, included Julie Derrer as program presenter.
The membership was happy to be informed that Marty Katz is now home. If you'd like to stop by and see him, it's strongly recommended that you call in advance.
Guests included Rock Island High School Key Club members, long-time former member and past President, Jim Casey, and Lieutenant Governor, Mark Petersen, who gave us some additional information on pancake festivities in the Division.
Past President, Adam Bain, informed us that the Bowl-A-Thon would be coming up sometime in April. It's probably never too early to sanitize your bowling shoes.
In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize, while Mike Swartz won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, which Jeff somehow managed to keep in the treasury.
In an always fun event, we welcomed an associate of Adam Bain, Susie Langston, into our membership.
