President Tom Ketelaar called the meeting of October 31 to order. Entertainment was again provided by Jonathan Turner and his Paranormal Singers.
Tom's first announcement concerned the Dining Tour books which, as Dick Fislar announced, will be more than paid for if one attends the January 25 social at Circa 21 with Rotary.
If you have not yet had your picture taken for the new directory, don't try to sneak in or out. Remember, Tom knows who you are.
John Califf announced that the Grant Committee was to meet after our meeting and that proposals would be presented during the month of November. John also announced that on November 19, we would be celebrating the Governor's visit at the Putnam. This will be a Division 16 and 17 outing, so it should be a pretty good event.
Adam Bain informed us that we have an extremely short fuse on Coats for Kids, this year, the event falling on Tuesday, November 8. Adam needs volunteers for all sorts of purposes, so if you can assist in what has become a very meaningful project, give him a call.
Daryl Townsend announced that the day's receipts resulted in an extremely successful Pantry Day collection.
Gene Smith announced that the total receipts to the Club for Birdies for Charity participation amounted to over $3,300. Congratulations to all of us who participated and so generously supported this fine community event.
Tom Ketelaar made a first presentation of his Presidential pin to Donna Keim for her participation in the membership area.
Guests included a visiting Interclub from Kewanee, as well as Key Clubbers from Rock Island High School.
In Fun and Fellowship, Jud Briggs worked his magic in winning the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. Dick Timmer once again qualified for the grand prize and, rumor has it, won some sort of game which can probably only be explained by Tom, Dick and Mike Bell.
