President Craig Knobloch called the meeting of Monday, June 20 to order. Jonathan Turner again provided entertainment along with his Rock Island Botanical Center Orchestra.
Craig reminded us that the Club will not be meeting on its regular time on Monday, July 4 but, rather, will be dining along with our Rock Island Rotarians on Tuesday, July 5.
Craig also reminded us that the annual Club meeting and election of officers and board members will be held July 18.
Gene Smith gave his final nice-guy reminder on Birdies for Charity. If you have any outstanding pledge forms, please get them in to Gene as soon as possible.
Currently, Interclub visits are at a standstill while Division Club secretaries search for the traveling gavel.
We were given a reminder that the District convention will be held August 4 - 7 in Davenport. Assistance will be needed at the registration desk Friday and Saturday. One of the feature attractions of the convention will be a golf outing August 4 at TPC.
Tom Ketelaar informed us that he is exploring the possibility of a Quad Cities Kiwanis Night at Modern Woodmen Park, to take in a River Bandits game.
Just in case you aren't interested in sitting in the air conditioning to assist in the District convention registration, you can cook your bones out at the Campbell Sports Complex August 5 - 7 and work at the softball tournament.
An announcement was made by one of Mike Swartz's parishioners concerning the need for volunteers to deliver food to low-income families this summer.
In Fun and Fellowship, John Kustes won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. Dick Timmer won the opportunity to go for the grand prize but, with Mike Bell back in action, the Club treasury was swelled.
