Club President, Craig Knobloch, called the June 6 meeting to order. Entertainment was provided, as always, by Jonathan Turner and his "It's Not the Heat, It's the Humidity" singers.
In deference to the number of activities planned for the meeting, Craig declared the Botanical Center a no-singing zone for the day.
Craig next gave a second reading of nominees for the various officer and board positions.
Gene Smith managed to rise above the horrendous Cubs/Cardinals series by sheer force of will and still was able to cheerfully solicit for Birdies for Charity.
John Califf gave a final announcement on the need for Kiwanis Club members to serve as marshals on hole 4. If you've got the time, give John a call and take in some hopefully lovely weather, excellent professional sport, and a great time.
Steve Schroder reported on the most recent and next upcoming Interclubs.
Craig announced that the Clinton Club would be sponsoring a golf outing August 19. He also again addressed the upcoming District golf tournament later in the summer.
In Fun and Fellowship, Jeff Behrens stood in for Mike Bell and while Tom Smith graciously donated his preliminary prize back to the Club, Jeff managed to give away the grand prize to Dick Timmer. If this keeps up, I think President Craig will be putting out an all-points bulletin to find Mike sometime in advance of the next meeting.
As always, we were delighted to welcome a new member into our fellowship, this time, Chris Elsberg.
