President Craig Knobloch called the meeting of February 28 to order. Jonathan Turner again delighted us with the noon hour entertainment.
Another joint event with Rotary is planned for the evening of March 18. The setting will be the Establishment Theater, formerly the Rocket, in downtown Rock Island, and the cost will be a discounted rate of $8 apiece.
We had another crowd-pleasing moment from the Club's bowling divas, Liz, Alicia and Queen Daphne. Liz reported that the bowling outing was a hoot, as always, and a great way to make a few dollars for Kiwanis charities.
John Califf reported that there was a good turnout for the Interclub meeting in Bettendorf.
We received an early reminder on Rose Day, which will occur on the last Wednesday in April. Tom Plechaty will be leading the charge again. Besides his enthusiasm for this event, he was also delighted to see Duncan Reid attending the meeting and available to pick up what is now his significantly advanced aged Swiss from Cheese Day.
Shane Johnson of Quad City Realtor Association informed us of a Habitat fundraiser to be held March 3 at 6:00 p.m. This will be a Texas Hold 'Em tournament.
Guests included members of the Alleman High School Key Club.
Adam Bain announced that the bags tournament planning committee will be holding its first meeting on Thursday at 3:30 at Huckleberry's in downtown Rock Island.
In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize and Alicia snatched the grand prize away from Mike Bell.
