Club President, Craig Knobloch, called the January 31 meeting to order. The membership enjoyed the entertaining talents of Jonathan Turner and his Snowmageddon Singers.
President Craig first reported that a thank-you had gone out to the family of Evie Lundell in grateful appreciation for additional contributions made to the Club memorial fund.
Craig also reminded us of the upcoming Division 17 Winter Meeting to be held February 13 at the Two Rivers Y.
Liz Loveless gave us our first warning on the upcoming Bowl-A-Thon on February 27. This gives you keglers about a month to shake out your favorite polyester outfit, polish up your bowling shoes, and buff your favorite marbleized bowling ball for this event. The location is Kewanee, and Liz will appreciate receiving sponsorship contributions for the team.
John Califf related that the Interclub last week with East Moline came off well, without any need to make use of the Genesis Illini medical facilities. Another Interclub event will be coming up during February with the Bettendorf Club, so make sure you have your passports in order.
The next Club Board meeting will be February 8 at 11:30 at Huckleberry's Pizza. If you'd like to see how a real master organization handles things, stop by, order some great Italian food, and watch your Club leadership in action.
The membership got another reminder of Use It or Luge It, which will be occurring on President's Day. President Craig volunteered that his employer has access to mountains of cardboard, so if you're stuck on an idea, you can at least get your supplies from Craig.
Guests included a member of the Rock Island High School Key Club.
Dick Fislar expressed his thanks for the turnout the Club had in our joint event with Rock Island Rotary at Circa 21. The food was great, the fellowship was wonderful, and the performance was fun as always.
Alicia very efficiently collected $49 for the food pantry.
In Fun and Fellowship, David Levin won the preliminary prize, which he elected to collect. The Kartel won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, and Bob Wakefield managed to wrest this prize from the wiley Mike Bell.
