Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates
If you are interested in helping keep our website up to date, please email me, daryl@gaselectriccu.com, or talk to me after our next meeting.  We will have a short meeting after our regular meeting on the 31st to assign some roles and do some basic training on this task.
The Opening Act

Club President, Craig Knobloch called the January 24 meeting to order.  Providing the entertainment again was Jonathan "88 Keys" Turner.

Our Lieutenant Governor was in attendance, and Ms. Buchanon gave us the full schedule.  The Division Council will be meeting February 13 to discuss, among other things, identifying future candidates for Lieutenant Governor.  On February 27, the District Bowl-A-Thon will be held.  The midyear Board meeting will be held March 26.  The Division 17 golf tournament will be held May 20, and the II District Convention will be held August 4 - 7.

By the time you read this, the Club will have participated in the K Kids charter activity at the Rock Island Center for Math & Science Monday afternoon, January 24.

John Califf announced that also on January 24, there was to be an Interclub with the East Moline group at Illini Hospital at 6:00 p.m.  Hopefully, those of you who attended were able to enjoy hospital food on a voluntary basis.

Guests included members of the Rock Island High School Key Club, who were escorted by Rock Island High School Principal, Robert Mason.

Another big event coming up on Presidents Day, February 21, will be our new Use It or Luge It event.  It's not too late to start on your snow season equivalent of a boxcar derby.

In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize, which it elected to receive in order to defray past expenses.  Alicia Shuman won the chance to go for the grand prize but lost it to the every-wiley Mike Bell.

The Feature Attraction

The program was given by Bill Baker from Modern Woodmen of America.  Following one of the longer introductions by our Club President, Bill gave a fascinating presentation on coaching and team building.  Bill shared a number of his techniques and strategies to promote positive attitude.  He closed his presentation with audience participation.
