President Craig Knobloch called the regular meeting of January 17 to order. Jonathan Turner was not available, so President Craig wisely elected not to pursue song leading.
Dick Fislar reminded us of the schedule for this Wednesday, January 19 event at Circa. Appetizers will be served commencing at 5:00. Dinner will start at 6:00, the Bootleggers' presentation will start at 7:15, and the main feature will start at 7:45.
The annual Division 17 meeting will be held February 13 at the Two Rivers Y in Moline. Please contact President Craig if you'd be interested in attending. As another part of Division business, Craig relayed the fact that Division staff is seeking out someone interested to serve as Lieutenant Governor for the 2012/2013 Kiwanis year.
John Califf reminded us that the next Interclub will be January 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Illini Hospital when our Club visitors will break bread with the East Moline/Silvis Club. This will be a dinner meeting.
Daryl Empen reported that the K-Kids charter event will be held January 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the Rock Island Center for Math and Science. If you have time available, please attend to give our young budding Kiwanians a boost.
Daryl also solicited assistance from anyone interested to work on the website.
Current bills and invoices are out. If you weren't able to attend the meeting and receive distribution, they will be mailed to you.
In Fun and Fellowship, Jud Briggs won the preliminary prize, which he elected to receive since, what with rising gas prices, that $4 might come in handy. The Kartel won the opportunity to play for the grand prize, and Duncan Reid managed to wrest the funds out of the hands of Tom Ketelaar.
