Club President Craig Knobloch called the December 13 meeting to order. Jonathan Turner again provided the entertainment, along with his Kiwanis Norman Luboff Singers.
The first announcement came from Tom Plechaty, who reiterated that 2010 cheese sales amounted to a bit over $2,500. At the start of the meeting, he still had six orders for purchasers to pick up and asked that the purchasers please follow up with him.
On the January 19 Circa 21 outing, we were again reminded to make sure that payment is made to Dick Fislar.
Tracee Keefer announced that the solicitations for responses worked well and that the Salvation Army bell ringing was again a success.
Alicia Shuman reminded us that she could still use about six or so helpers to assist at around 3:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church for the annual King Center party.
John Califf announced that two members who had volunteered to go to the Tom & Jerry party sponsored by the Davenport Club had to back out. Those two openings will probably go fast, so give John a call if you'd be interested.
President Craig gave us a reminder that the Bad Gift Exchange will be occurring next Monday, December 20. Dust off those little gems you have in the attic, wrap them up nicely, and have a good laugh.
Craig also informed us that there would be no formal Club meeting on January 3 but that there would be a joint meeting with Rotary on Tuesday, January 4 for the annual State of the City address given by the Mayor of Rock Island.
Guests included members of the Rock Island High School Key Club.
In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize, which it gratefully took to help offset current losses. Bill Nelson won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, but Mike Bell again worked his magic and kept the money in the Club treasury.
