The Opening Act

Club President, Craig Knobloch, called the November 29 meeting to order.  Entertainment was again ably provided by Jonathan Turner and his Kiwanis Soggy Bottom Boys.

Dick Fislar began the announcements with speaking about his tally of over 100 attendees for the Circa 21 night with Rotary.  He also made a pitch for the Rock River Ramble.

We were next reminded that the Davenport Club's Tom & Jerry outing at the Outing Club would be December 16.

Representatives of the Alleman High School Key Club reported on their new Pathfinders program, which will feature global awareness this week.
Salvation Army bell ringing will occur on December 11.

Daryl Townsend reported on the food pantry, which reflected numerous blessings.

Guests included representatives of the Alleman High School Key Club and the St. Ambrose University Circle K Club.

Alicia Shuman reminded us that gift wrapping for the annual King Center holiday party would start at 8:00 a.m. this coming Saturday at Second Baptist Church.  We were again reminded that for the first choice in donuts, get there early.

In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the preliminary prize.  Gary Johnson won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, which Mike Bell managed to retain for the Club treasury.

Three new members were inducted at the meeting.  Think back to when you were inducted into the Club and take the opportunity to meet, greet and get to know these fine folks.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

"It's amazing that the amount of news that happens in the world every day always just exactly fits the newspaper."    - Jerry Seinfeld
