The Opening Act
|
| President Craig called the meeting of October 18 to order. Once again providing the entertainment was Jonathan Turner and his Kiwanis Melody Makers.
We were reminded that this is open season on hunting down dining tour books available again this year for the low, low price of $35. Buy a book or two and pop for a nice meal out with your favorite dining partner.
The invocation and song leader list made its way around the room in the capable and insistent hands of Tom Ketalaar. Don't be shy. Just about anyone can do this. Even a caveman could do it.
In the absence of Dick Fislar, President Craig reminded us about the joint Kiwanis/Rotary Circa night. A good time is always had by all and it's a great way to get back the full value of the dining tour book in one swell foop.
Cheese sale time is coming soon so be on the lookout for Tom Plechaty in the back corner of the room hawking some of the best cheese this side of the Modern Woodman building.
In a program change next week we will be privileged to welcome a few of the performers from the Alleman High School production of "Oklahoma." Sing along is optional.
In fun and fellowship Bill Nelson won the preliminary prize which he elected to collect. His daughter won the chance to go for the grand prize but Mike Bell once again was too elusive.

| The Feature Attraction |
| The program was given by Rev. Bob Hanson, current chaplain at Trinity. Bob's background is both in pulpit ministry and chaplaincy and he sees his duties at Trinity as encompassing both aspects of the ministry. His concept of pastoral care in the clinical setting of a health care facility can provide a bridge between the patient and other functions of the office, taking into consideration those who may have varying degrees of church affiliation. His ministry goes out to the patient, but also the staff and the community at large.
