Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates
Dining Tour Books are now available again.  The books are still $35 and you can pay in cash or be billed on your next quarterly billing.  Also, bring in your unused coupons from last year to donate.
The Opening Act
Club President, Adam Bain, called his last meeting as President to order on September 27.  Jonathan Turner provided the entertainment, along with his Kiwanis Auld Lang Syne singers.
Adam announced that there would be a formal wrap-up on the bags tournament in the near future.  In the meantime, there are some shirts for sale which would make a delightful gift for that bagperson in your life.
Dick Fislar gave an early announcement to the effect that the Circa joint Club social with Rotary will be held January 19. The timing of this announcement worked well with the announcement that Dining Tour books were once again available and again feature the coupon for a Circa performance which would, alone, just about pay for the book.
Guests included past Lieutenant Governor and current Lieutenant Governor Amron and Claudia Buchanan.  We were also delighted to welcome several members from the Alleman High School Key Club.
We were again reminded of the NAMI walk on October 2, as well as the crop walk which will be the next day, on October 3. Dust off your sneakers and get on out there.
$62 was received for the benefit of the food pantry.
In Fun and Fellowship, past President, Steve Schroder, won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. The Kartel won the opportunity to go for the grand prize, but to make Adam's day, Bob Wakefield managed to let the grand prize slip through the Kartel's fingers.
Lieutenant Governor Claudia participated in the installation of officers for the 2010/2011 year.  This group consisted of incoming President, Craig Knobloch; First Vice President, Tom Ketelaar; Second Vice President, Jeff Behrens; Secretary, Mike Bell; Treasurer, Daryl Empen; and Club Directors, Alicia Shuman, Tom Plechaty, Bob Stecker,  Heidi Huiskamp-Collins, Julie Derrer, John Califf, Tracee Keefer, Chris Ford and Bill Cleaver.
Following the installation, Lieutenant Governor Claudia reminded us of the Governor's visit which will be held October 24 at 12:30 at the I Wireless Center.  This promises to be a delightful and fun occasion and an opportunity to meet fellow Kiwanis members from four different divisions, as well as our District Governor, Larry Forsberg.
The Feature Attraction
The program consisted of a very informative and interesting presentation by Jeff Behrens of the new Club website.
