Club President, Adam Bain, called our meeting to order March 8. Jonathan Turner again provided the entertainment and was ably assisted by unofficial Club Troubadour, Daryl Empen.
Ms. Loveless announced that she was out collecting in advance on Club member pledges for the division Bowl-A-Thon, March 14, at Highland Park Bowl. To the amazement of everyone, she announced that there were going to be 12 bowlers on the Club team, which should assure us of sponsoring the greatest usage of polyester fabric the area has seen in years.
Adam reminded us that on May 10, the International Kiwanis President will be speaking at the Salvation Army Annual Meeting. Contact Dave Luft for more details.
Adam also gave a plug for the Kiwanis Club's March 15 Pancake Day.
Adam announced that the first committee of his Bags Tournament was held last Thursday in preparation for the tournament to be held September 18.
Joe Robb reminded us that he would be chaperoning an Inter-Club Meeting with the East Moline/Silvis Club, 6:00 p.m., March 22, at the former Illini Hospital. Latex gloves will be furnished at the door.
Dave Umphrey reminded us that the Terrific Kids Caravan would be traveling to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School this week.
There was a host of guests, including Key Club Members from Alleman High School.
The happy/sad dollar segment of the meeting included a welcome back to Daryl Townsend.
Just in case anyone felt out of the loop for things to do, Tom Plechaty reminded us that Rose Day is coming up soon.
In Fun and Fellowship, Jerry Upchurch won the preliminary prize which he graciously donated to the Alleman High School Key Club. Tom Smith won the chance to go for grand prize, but managed to lose.
