Our Club President, Adam Bain,
called the meeting to order.
Entertainment, as always, was provided by Jonathan Turner and his
Kiwanis Groundhog Day Chorus.
President Adam once again handled
the announcements. First, he proudly
stated that the membership application of Julie Albers had been approved and
that there are other applications which are under consideration by the Board.
Adam also reported that the Circa
21 event last Wednesday night went very well and was enjoyed by all who
attended.
Grant applications have gone to
John Califf's committee, which will have begun review and consideration by the
time you receive this newsletter.
A card was made available at the
front table for Daryl Townsend. Daryl
underwent surgery this past Sunday and our best thoughts are with him.
Adam also announced that the
Moline Club will be celebrating its 90th birthday this year. The Moline Club will be celebrating the event
with a golf outing and reception following sometime in May.
Dining Tour books have been
selling like, well, Dining Tour books and only a few are left. Better snatch one up if you haven't already
done so.
Joe Robb related that the last
Interclub to Moline went very well and that the next expedition will be
crossing the river to Bettendorf.
Tom Ketelaar Innovated Events and
Productions publicized the Club's first annual Use It or Luge It event to be
held at Snowstar on February 15.
Brochures were available at all tables.
Contact Tom if you think you might be interested in a really good time.
Our guests included one guest of
Brian Berdun and a Rock Island High School Key Clubber.
In Fun and Fellowship, Gene Smith
won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club. The Kartel won the opportunity to go for the
grand prize but managed to lose it to the wiley touch of our own Mike Bell.
