  Upcoming Events/Fundraisers/Dates
Rose Day, Wednesday, April 22nd.  ALL MONEY AND ORDERS MUST BE TURNED IN BY MONDAY'S MEETING TO DENISE ORMSBY.  PLEASE FINALIZE YOUR ORDERS BY THAT TIME.

Peanut Day, May 8-9
Opening Act
President Denise Ormsby called the meeting to order.  Jonathan Turner and his Sugarland tribute band, "NutraSweet Land", provided the entertainment.
In view of the full agenda, Queen Daphne pronounced, to the grief and sorrow of the attendees, that there would be no group singing.  Happy/Sad Dollar was also cut out of the agenda so, hopefully, everyone will hang onto their bucks until next Monday.
We were reminded that the last day for collection of Rose Day funds will be next Monday.
The Club will welcome several new members to the fellowship next week.
Dave Umphrey announced that the Rod Jennings Clean-up Fix-up Fest will be held April 25 at 8:00 a.m.  If you have trouble hanging on to a paintbrush, finger painting is encouraged.
Dave also reminded us of a Bethany fundraiser April 17.  If you have any questions about this, Dave welcomes telephone inquiries any time of the day or night.
Gene Smith gave us our first warning that Birdies for Charity solicitation will be coming soon.
John Califf announced that grant requests are being solicited, so if you know of a worthy cause, please feel free to pass it on to John.
As if the mountain of plastic two-piece eggs and miniature Tootsie Rolls didn't serve as enough of a reminder, Bill Nelson reminded us that the annual Easter egg hunt will be this Saturday.  Participation in this brief but frenetic activity is encouraged.
Guests included members of the Alleman High School Key Club and several co-workers of Bill Nelson specially trained in the ancient art of plastic Easter egg stuffing.
In Fun and Fellowship, Chris Ford won the preliminary prize, which he graciously donated back to the Club.  Dave Bender won the opportunity to go after the grand prize but had as much luck as most of our past participants.
The Feature Attraction
The program was given by Rodney Mooney and yes, there is no such thing as a former Marine.  Mr. Mooney gave his presentation on the museum which he had a significant role in establishing in honor of the United States Marine Corps on Arsenal Island at the Reserve Center.  He shared with us a brief history of the Corps and included a number of interesting vignettes on past engagements of the Corps, including the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, the War of 1812, and World War I.
After the program, the membership recessed for Easter egg stuffing.
