Dear Friends of At Home Solutions: Happy Spring to you! It's wonderful to finally open our windows again - enjoying the fresh air and warmer weather that's coming our way. We have been very busy as we become comfortable with our new line of service for our families. Late 2009 we began offering hands on Home Health Care assistance. Prior to that, we offered solely Companion non-medical services. Our clients and staff are excited that we are able to stay with our families longer and open many more doors for partnerships and continued growth as we enter our 5th year this spring! Some of the tasks we can now assist with in addition to our on-going Caregiver services are: v Showering Assistance v Medication Set ups and administration v Transferring Assistance v Dressing Assistance v Feeding v Ambulation Assistance
I am proud of all our hard work, dedication and high integrity and ethics we have demonstrated over the past four years. It's a true testament to why I started the business. We have excellent, trustworthy people working with us fulfilling our mission to serve older adults and their families long term. For your peace of mind and comfort, it is possible to stay safe, secure and independent with compassionate Caregivers and Home Health Care Services. I am thankful for all of you who over the past years have referred us to your loved ones, clients, neighbors or friends who needed a Caregiver. Please continue to keep us in mind and contact me personally if I can be of any assistance to you or a loved one. In Gratitude, Kristin Kopp President / Founder At Home Solutions, LLC |

Featured Caregiver:
Courtney G.
I will be graduating with honors (Cum Laude) from St.Thomas in May with a degree in Psychology of Behavioral Neuroscience. I've earned a spot in Nu Rho Psi, the National Neuroscience Society and have chosen this major and this Caregiver job because of my interest in people.
I have always known that I want to be in a career dealing directly with and helping people learning something new at my job everyday. I have gotten to meet a lot of lovely ladies and gentleman who teach me about their incredible lives and help me to learn about myself as well. |

OnYourMind:
Caregivers must remember to care for themselves as well as others
I hear it all the time in my profession: tired, worn-out women on the phone saying that they just don't know what else to do, how to squeeze one more second out of the day, one more ounce of energy out of themselves. They are career women, mothers, partners, people with their own dreams. And now they are finding themselves as caregivers-parents to their own parents. Something has got to give.
I have learned that, on average, you:
· are a 46-year-old female, married and working outside the home
· spend as much as 50 percent more time providing care than male caregivers
· may have passed up a job promotion, training or assignment to fulfill caregiving duties.
Few people are fully prepared for the conflicting emotional challenges that caregiving can place upon them-from joy to sadness, anger, frustration, a sense of loss for a loved one's declining health and your own personal losses: (friends, time or job loss). It's not uncommon to have guilt while trying to juggle personal wants and needs, the needs of our families as well as the needs of the person being caring for.
