Dear Friends of At Home Solutions:

Welcome to our inaugural e-newsletter! Spring has sprung and it looks like we're finally seeing the end of another Minnesota winter. We hope you're finding some time to enjoy the beautiful weather!

We are very busy here with all the excitement that comes with a growing group of great clients, caregivers, and staff!

As we are coming up on our two year mark, I reflect often on all the hard work that has already occurred to create a very solid foundation from which to serve seniors and people with disabilities. Creating At Home Solutions, LLC from the ground up has been a huge learning experience and I am very proud of everything that we have accomplished so far. There is no way I could have done this without the support of my parents, friends and professional colleagues.  I am thankful each day for my dedicated Caregivers, Managers and especially the clients and their families/friends who have entrusted their care to us. We continue to meet new challenges head on that can only make us stronger, more resilient, compassionate and open minded with each new client we work with.

We are here to ensure that anyone who needs assistance at home, whether recovering from surgery, Caregivers needing respite time, stressed out mothers, seniors or people with disabilities have the services they need. It is possible to age safely in place with compassionate Caregivers. I encourage you to contact me personally if I can be of any assistance to you or a loved one.

We are here to help.

In Gratitude,

Helping Seniors Maintain Independence in Their Homes

Reducing Falls Through Our Home Management Program

Did you know that unintentional falls are the leading cause of hospitalized injuries among persons 65+?

Or that Minnesota has the 4th highest fall rate in the country for seniors with 75% of all falls occurring in the home?

We believe that the key to reducing these alarming statistics is prevention. We have designed a program that addresses this issue by providing a thorough inspection of the home in which the senior resides.

Using our experience working with seniors and those with disabilities, combined with comprehensive research, we have compiled a Home Safety Inspection that will be completed in your home by an Occupational Therapist. The inspection focuses on reducing the risk of falls by suggesting changes that can be made to reduce the number of potential hazards in the client's home.

The goal of this program is to help alleviate the time, resource, and energy associated with maintaining the home and property, and, by extension, helping the senior maintain their independence in their home.

After the assessment, we provide trusted referrals to help them through the process of various improvements and repairs, and offer follow up with the client, as requested, to ensure the proper safety improvements are being made.

As an additional service we also offer a Home Watch service in which we oversee the client's home and property while they are away on vacation or an extended hospitalization stay.

Both the Home Management Program and the Home Watch service are offered in addition to our Home Care Services. This program matches our client needs directly with our own Caregivers who help with running errands, light cleaning, companionship, incidental transportation, medication reminders, organization and downsizing of living spaces, food preparation, etc. We offer this program 2-24 hours per day, seven days a week.
